Pumpkin Pie with Pecans
2 ½ cups pumpkin
¼ cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tbsp melted butter
1 unbaked pastry shell
1 cup pecans
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup melted butter
Mix the pumpkin, milk, eggs, flour, sugar, salt, extracts, spices, and butter and then pour into the pastry shell. Bake in a preheated 450 degree oven for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake another 40 minutes until done. Mix the pecans with the melted butter and brown sugar. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the pie and then place under the broiler until the topping looks caramelized.
